The chlororinated bibenzyl compound (1) inhibited the growth of the Gram positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis ATCC 19659, (2mm inhibition zone at ), Candida albicans ATCC 14053, (2mm inhibition zone at ), and the dermatophytic fungus Trichophyon mentagrophtes ATCC 28185, (3mm inhibition zone at ).
